About Kiddie Castle

Kiddie Castle International Preschool is the fastest growing chain of preschools in Asia, recognized widely for its award winning and child-centric curriculum

Kiddie castle follows a standard and framed curriculum and follows the resources of British Council Learn English Kids. We provide a motivating environment that promotes effective learning and cultivates good manners in children in their foundational years. We endeavour to make children confident, eager and enthusiastic learners who look forward to school.

Our teachers are carefully selected for their education and knowledge of Early Childhood Education, their commitment to a high quality educational experience, and their personal characteristics which make them well-suited to working with young children. A kiddie castle student grows to become a creative and self-reliant individual with leadership skills. Armed with positive attitude, a kiddie castle kid is ready to take on the world.

Our Princes and Princesses learn the art of expression and communication through fun methods like story-telling, role play, picture description and singing songs. Children are also encouraged to talk about pictures, to ‘read’ picture books and to re-tell favourite stories to adults and peers.

Kiddie castle provides them the opportunity to discover their environment in a variety of ways. Kids are taught to observe shapes, colours, patterns and sequences of events in their environment by listening, touching and even smelling. They are encouraged to ask questions, match and compare information. The art room in our school helps provide an opportunity to children to investigate and use a variety of materials and to explore line, shape, colour, pattern and texture. Also children have the opportunity to enjoy music in all its forms, participate in playing instruments, sing and move rhythmically to music. The importance of physical education cannot be ignored. Children’s physical development is influenced by their growing confidence and enjoyment of physical play. Hence, Kiddie Castle provides them a big outdoor play area, with plenty of age appropriate play equipments.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is a blend of Montessori and British Curriculum. At Kiddie Castle International Preschool, we are focused on the 6 key areas of learning and development. Based on the belief that each child is unique, we understand that children learn and develop in different ways.

  • Personal Social & Emotional Development
  • Communication & Language
  • Physical Development
  • Understanding of the World
  • Mathematics
  • Expressive Arts & Design

Personal Social & Emotional Development

Creative activities such as dance, acting nursery rhymes, role play, storytelling, art and design, junk modelling, painting, cutting and sticking, collages and drawing. A range of natural and man-made materials are offered for exploration. Weekly Music and Movement encourages

Development of free expression and ideas. The children use their bodies, scarves and ribbons to interpret sound and rhythm. Children are offered a range of small world, role-play and a puppet theatre to develop their imaginative play and develop their creative minds.

Communication & Language

Children are given a wide range of opportunities to develop listening, communication skills and vocabulary. They have the freedom of speech and opportunities for conversation. Children’s attention, listening, understanding and speech development is enriched using books, storytelling, conversation, song, rhyme and phonic games.

Physical Development

Children develop gross and fine motor skills, a high degree of hand eye coordination and balance through Practical Life exercises. Utilizing the indoor and outdoor environment, physical development is a natural part of all the child’s activities. Music and movement also forms an important part of the child’s development where they are given opportunities to practice their gross motor skills via dance, obstacle courses and movement games. Children are encouraged and empowered to care for themselves and to be independent in their self-care skills.

Understanding of the World

Sensorial methods introduce the basics of mathematics into the child’s learning, they learn to count, combine, share, compare and really learn to understand mathematical concepts. Sensorial materials are designed to educate and train the senses of the child. They encourage the child to compare, contrast and to discriminate. They include activities with shape, sizes, sequencing and pattern alongside exploration of their environment. Water, sand and exploration of a wide range of materials facilitate the child’s awareness of texture, volume, length and capacity. Counting activities are offered in a mathematically rich environment ranging from rhymes and games to sandpaper numerals and spindle boxes. The children explore the recognition of numerals using the sandpaper numbers and are offered the opportunity to relate number to quantity using Montessori materials.

Mathematics

Cultural subjects such as geography, science and history, which enrich the child’s understanding of the world in which he/she lives, are an important part of our teaching. Opportunities to explore and care for the environment both indoor and outdoor are provided. Life cycles and nature are a common theme within the nursery where children learn about the natural world. Use of materials found in the natural world provides the foundations for art and creative work. Children are introduced to celebrations from around the world and the child will be encouraged to understand and value diversity in the world.
